How to Conquer Your Tupperware Drawer
Ah, the den of horrors that is the Tupperware drawer. Difficult to create a system that works, difficult to maintain. Whenever I'm organizing a kitchen for a client, we make sure to touch on this space. It's also my most frequent job when I visit my parent's house (#freelabor).
Here's a few tips to make yours work for you:
1. Buy just one brand. Typically they nest well and if you go get yourself a lid organizer for extra credit you can clean it up in about five minutes! Nest the squares together and the circles together. Lids in the organizer, containers nested for neatness. Everyone's happy!
Here's one of the Lid organizers I like.
You can also use drawer dividers or a tension rod to keep everything neat in your storage space.
If you'd rather not buy an actual lid organizer but have a square bin or a magazine holder lying around the house, use that to corral your lids. Attach the magazine holder with command strips (my husband's Very Favorite Thing) so it doesn't move around too much in the drawer/cabinet.
2. If it's not realistic to just have one brand, or if you have a mixture of plastic and glass, see above but keep glass and plastic separate.
3. THROW IT ALL OUT AND BAN LEFTOVERS FROM YOUR HOME.
