Organizer Spotlight: Maggie Newburgh
I am so lucky to have such a great team at OrgaNice. I thought it would be fun to do a little Q&A for each of my team members so you can glean a little wisdom and know them a little better. Today we are starting with Maggie Newburgh, my right hand lady and lead organizer.
1. What made you want to be a professional organizer?
a. Realizing that it was possible. I never thought my life-long love of being obsessively neat could ever turn into a career. I am extremely fortunate to have a mutual friend who introduced me to Kielyn. It changed my life.
2. What is your favorite space to organize? Your least favorite? Why?
a. My favorite spaces to organize are ones that make the most impact for our client. It is very gratifying to see a shift in moods as their space becomes their own again.
b. My least favorite space to organize are kids’ playrooms. There are so many pieces, toys and parts and things I don’t understand!
3. Tell us about your favorite project to date.
a. It was a primary closet that I took the lead on for the first time. It turned out great and I was proud of myself
4. What is your favorite product to use in a space?
a. Ideally what the client has on hand. But depending on their needs, Target Brightroom clear bins are very versatile.
5. Where is your favorite place to shop for product?
a. NOT CONTAINER STORE
6. What do you wish people knew about professional organizing?
a. We do so much more than just making a space look nice. We want to learn how you live and add functional systems that adapt to that.
7. What is your #1 organizing tip?
a. Decluttering is necessary. It can be tough to part with your things – but ask yourself “Will I miss this?”.
