What I Learned from 400 Professional Organizers

What do you get when you put 400 professional organizers in a room in Austin TX? Very orderly lines and organized sessions and workshops, for one! :)

We descended on Austin last Friday until Sunday and spent the weekend cramming our brains with info on all aspects of organizing and entrepreneurship. I had sessions on product sourcing and planning, business systems, photo management, marketing, finances, leadership, team training, growing and scaling my business, mental health and avoiding burnout and more. It was a TON of info, and I'm spending today gathering myself and implementing some of the changes I am excited about making to allow me to serve my clients better.

But as exciting and valuable as all of that was, it was the least valuable part of the weekend. You would think having that many women in a room - especially Type A, perfectionist types like many of us professional home organizers are - would be super competitive and even cutthroat. But you would be wrong.

We are all in the same business all over the country and at vastly different phases of growth - from brand new to established organizing empires making seven figures with huge teams. But in that room, the vibe is supportive and collaborative and it feels like there is room for all in this space. Any competition and imposter syndrome is your own head.

It's hard to get used to, and I definitely had moments where I wondered what I was doing at an event like this. But the truth is, OrgaNice was born out of a desire to help other people in the same way. Good professional organizing is more than aesthetic - it's a real desire to help people live better in their spaces so they can maximize their free time for what really matters. I am so lucky and honored to be able to do what I love with the clients that make it possible.

Thank you for supporting me and my business on my journey. Providing organizing services in my community is such a joy.
